In view of strengthened implementation of National Education Policy-2020, both in Government and Private Aided Degree Colleges in the State, in the reference 1st and 2 nd cited above, orders have been issued for introduction ofSingle Major in the Colleges from the Academic Year 2023 -2024 by taking into account the prevailing scenario in the Colleges.
In the reference 3 rd cited, the Secretary (FAC), APSCHE-AP has communicated certain guidelines for conversion of Single Major Programmes to be offered under curriculum Frame works with effect from AY 2025-26. In pursuance of the said guidelines, in the 4th cited proposals have been called for from both the Principals of Government Degree Colleges and Correspondents/Principals of Private Aided Degree Colleges informing that all the Single Major Programmes offered during the academic year 2024-25 will be continued without any change for ensuing academic year 2025-26 and proposals for new Single Major Programmes if any to be offered by the College from the academic year 2025-26 will be accepted if there is a dire necessity subject to submission of needy analysis, availability of faculty, infrastructure, Staff Council Resolutions.
After receiving the proposals for change of existing programmes, from various Principals of Government Degree Colleges for finalization / continuation of existing programmes, for the academic year 2025-2026, for scrutiny of the proposals in the reference 5th cited, a Committee has been constituted with the Regional Joint Directors of Collegiate Education and other academic experts including Principals of the Colleges.
The proposals submitted by the Principals of Government Degree Colleges, have been placed before the Committee and the Committee after scrupulously examining the detailed College-wise and programme-wise proposals submitted by the Principals', duly considering the resolutions submitted with proposals case to case, has consented to approve/modify/reject the proposed programmes as given in the Annexure with the Permitted student strength mentioned against each Programme.
Now sanctioned Programmes are without any financial commitment to the Government either now or in future subject to the following conditions.
- No additional posts will be sanctioned for the newly sanctioned UG Programmes.
- No additional funds will be provided for building, equipment and other infrastructure facilities.
- The existing labs, equipment, manpower etc., shall be utilized for these programmes.

The Principals of the Colleges are directed to take further steps, for the ensuing admissions being carried for the academic year 2025-2026 as per the schedule by following due procedure.
Further the Principal of the College is also requested to intimate the changes/continuation of the Single Major Programmes to the respective Affiliating University Registrars in their jurisdiction for its recognition/affiliation of programmes and for further necessary action.
Further they are also requested to map the existing Fee structure with the Universities and concerned Welfare Departments for receiving the scholarships.
Receipt of these proceedings should be acknowledged.
